About Lanka Witness

Lanka Witness is an independent English-language international public-interest publication focused on Sri Lanka: accountability, government, justice, human rights, media freedom, the economy and unresolved issues that deserve sustained scrutiny.

We distinguish original Lanka Witness analysis from reporting published by other media. Where we link to outside reporting, the original publisher is identified. Our own analysis aims to separate documented facts, attributed claims and opinion.

Our intended readership is international as well as Sri Lankan, including diplomats, embassies and High Commissions, United Nations bodies, international organisations, researchers, human-rights advocates, journalists and diaspora readers following Sri Lanka.
